A New Arrival

Sailing back toward the mainland, the party rescues a stranded frog-man named Grover from a small rowboat. They soon spot an isolated lighthouse tower in the middle of the ocean. Upon investigating, they meet Yan Maya, an eccentric chibi wizard who invites them to brave his basement Trial of Fears. Inside, the party confronts illusions of their deepest traumas: Fari losing her sister in a blizzard, Fenwick's friend disappearing into white light, Grover's betrayal by his brother, and Vadis's centuries of dark isolation. They each make a sacrifice to proceed and are forced to battle shadowy duplicates of themselves. After prevailing, Yan Maya reveals his true, handsome illusionist form and rewards them with magical items before teleporting the entire tower away.
