The Cat and the Hag

Following their survival in the Arena, the party visits a magic shop run by mushroom people, where Vadis trades ancient electrum for a Lantern of Revealing. Continuity temporarily departs the group to handle personal matters. The remaining members seek out Lady Evelyn Nightshade to return her missing cat, Whiskers. Upon finding a 'lady' holding the cat, they quickly realize she is an imposter—a Dusk Hag who stole the pet because it held a magical garnet. Vadis unleashes a flurry of attacks, and despite the Hag's attempts to cast Sleep and Nightmare Touch, the party kills her. They return the cat to the real Lady Evelyn, who rewards them with her grandfather's old adventuring gear and the Cloak of Echoing Spirits.
