Eight-Legged Terrors

Continuing their trek in the dark forest, the party discovers a tombstone marked with an arcane sigil. Placing their newly acquired rune gauntlet on it opens a nearby door, unleashing a Phase Spider and several ravenous spider swarms. The party is nearly overwhelmed, with Fari going down to zero hit points and being cocooned by webbing. They manage to dispatch the spiders after Continuity incinerates the swarms with Scorching Ray. They retrieve a white marble bead of destruction magic from the spider's remains and escape through a portal 30 feet down a hole, emerging in the arena to receive their gemstone adornments from the prince.

Phase Spider and swarms battle. The swarms nearly TPK'd the group, dropping Fari. Continuity used Create Bonfire and Scorching Ray to burn them away.

• Continuity: Burns the swarms away, single-handedly saving the party from a wipe.
• Fenwick: Sends his homunculus ('little guy') to apply healing ointment to Fari's face.
