The party battles a massive Zombie Clot, returns a stolen power core to a mechanical Behir, and finally arrives in the city of Gorenobyl.
Vadis manages to drag Fenwick (and the Bagman) partially out of the Bag of Holding, forcing the monster to retreat. Continuing through the mountain pass, the party is ambushed by a massive amalgamation of corpses called a Zombie Clot. The creature uses a Flesh Entomb attack that instantly kills their draft horses, but Fenwick obliterates it with a perfectly placed Rime's Binding Ice and Scorching Ray. Further down the road, they enter ancient clockwork ruins and meet an awakened mechanical Behir demanding its stolen power source back. They pin down the thief, Clockwork Jenkins, return the core to the Behir (whom Vadis names 'Himell'), and learn the locations of other ancient teleportation hubs. Without horses, they abandon their cart, take a train, and successfully arrive in the mechanical city of Gorenobyl.
The Zombie Clot dealt massive damage to the horses, killing them instantly. Vadis landed heavy smites, and Fenwick heavily damaged the undead with fire magic.
"I'm not just going to try to pull Fenwick out of the bag — I'm going to pull the Bagman and Fenwick. Pull them both out."— Vadis
